and I'll swim down to the bottom and
declare my victory or defeat
if that is what i'll need
so I can finally get some sleep

I had a premonition of dying drunk in my sleep
but I can not believe that night is tonight
No, this can not be my last night on the Earth

Real Fast Food Reality
From the first day in school you're taught to stand in line
Forced to recite the pledge of allegiance by the age of five
They smile to your face and say you're free
service with a smile
Masses are morons conditioned to consume
The things you own end up owning you.
Live your life in rank and file.
Service with a smile
Pursuit of happiness is making cash
So other people can take out you're trash
Have a good seat to watch the crash
Think real hard in concentration camps.
ch; The more you look the more it's fake
The more you can't handle the taste
of this real fast food reality
a race of humans with no humanity
well that depends on what that means
Blank faces dollar bills playing lets make a deal
Twelve step programs, money addiction, credit card applications
Would you like a side of fries with your hopeless lives
It's fifty cents extra to supersize your lies

Indecision
02:44
|

My gas guage goes from a quarter to empty
Open up my mouth fill it with coffee.
My heart beats at 6 thousand RPM
my stomach and the tires turn in unison.
My right foot controls both the gas and the brake
which one I pick is dependent on my brain.
I sit in the drivers seat and I think.
Should I come to a safe stop
or accelerate off a mountain top
is there any difference.--
Racing through yellow lights just to end up at dead end signs
I shake my head turn around and go back again.
My GPS says to take 4 lefts, like an idiot I listen
and I end up back where I started.
This indecision is driving me up the walls towards the ceiling
And I don't want to be hanging from there.
If the wind sings songs with porch lights on
and you can't help but to sing along I say that you got there.
So pull over and pull up a chair.
We'll sing songs of defiance and dance to stomp out avarice
and we can say we finally got there,
where that is I haven't a care.

All is fair behind the flag
but who is to say who gets the fat
should the rich be shot for treason
if there is poor people freezing
pay to watch commercial TV
corporate sponsored royalty
asphyxiation from the exhaust of the treasury
Are you dumb or really free
It don't matter can't you see
Either way you look at it
when bombshells hit epileptic fits
If it's fun it can't be free
Amendment one of the American dream
and gods too busy holding the sun up
so you can see your life is fucked up
You're young
you'll get over it
you'll get use to it
if you choose to fight
the dynamite may not ignite

Bossless Office

Reading Rudolph Rocker like it is intro to business
Drinking with spanky and talking about starting up a syndicate
Learning how to turn big ideas into actions that cause changes in our lives
Sick of singing songs about hating jobs like we have no other options
not as efficient, not as profitable
As treating other people like shit
it may be sloppy, it may be unpredictable
You can keep a sense of self respect
The top down hierarchy will try to keep you down
Keep you down
A horizontal structure could pick it up
Pick it up pick it up
Heartless, economics, Quarterly, profits determine
Our morality, our ecology, our future, if one can be built on top of this
We need to redefine the words work and play, So that they mean the same thing
Using democracy on the workshop floor will create a Bossless Office

I was born on a pirate ship. All aboard lets take a trip.
We'll play some stupid songs. Open your trap sing along
Capitalist don't want to be free. Drowning in policy
Companies run the seven seas. Feed the sharks with their disease
They can walk the plank. Or we'll throw them over board
It's better to swim in the sea below, than to swing in the air and feed the crow.
Three sheets to the wind, before they pillage it all
Heave ho Heae ho, Hoist the colors here we go
Anarchists are lost at sea Fuck the world sae la ve
Take comfort in sound pollution Hostile waters make for dangerous solutions Yo Ho

E B/ EBAE ABE/ AE ABE
They will fight you tooth and nail
They will fight you tooth and nail john
how do you want to be remembered
What if no one answers the call
What if no one answers the call John
It takes one spark to light a fire
This will array the whole country against us
This will array the whole country against us John
Something startling is just what the nation needs
Your heading into a perfect steel trap
Your heading into a perfect steel trap john
In which you wont make it out alive
down at the armory
things did not go to plan
stuck between the militia
and the mob scene
The rifles deafening
The door was smashed
only a few made it out alive
And just as Frederick Douglas warned
And just as Frederick Douglas warned John Brown
He met the end of a rope
for the furtherance of the ends of justice
Old John Brown’s body lies mouldering in the grave,
While weep the sons of bondage whom he ventured all to save
But tho he lost his life while struggling for the slave,
..His truth is marching on

He's having an episode won't take his medication
He's not doing very good. You've got to get him someplace
He wants to fight his mother. ... She's scared to death of him
we had to put him in before, (He's just, he's not right)
70 seconds from the car to the tragedy
assess the situation with deadly condemnation
seeing Keith tazed and held down on the ground
the cop said, "We don't have time for this" and shot
to serve and protect with violence and death
to protect and serve I hope you get what you deserve
mental illness is not to blame
bastard police can not say the same
We called for help and they murdered my son

From Socrates to Operation Ivy
Em G C Am Em G Am C Em G C G Em CCCC Am.....
Why do I try to saw this guitar in half,
and I scream so loud I can not hear a word I sing,
It seems to me that anything worth saying
has been said better before,
So lets spin our wheels and reinvent it
this time a little more square.---
All I can say Is I have nothing to say,
And all I know is that I know Nothing,
and I know that even that Is plagiary,
but it may be the only bit of Honesty.. there is
If I write another protest song
will the government lay down its sword,
and if I scream loud enough will you hear me way out there, I can break a string sit down shut up no one will notice, why do I continue maybe to get to the next chours

This is not a call for violence
Burning a flag is like hanging a cop
from the top of a flagpole while the fireworks go off. it's pretty,
symbolic don't you think?
I think it is a symbol of what we are trying to say
and there has to be a better way...
Marching the bankers to the guillotine
could balance the ledgers or just be obscene.
what do you think?
would it set things right?
What would you say?
If the streets ran red tonight.
The question is,
does the end justify the means,
or are we just being mean.
If we make a compromise are we half way on there side, is there any room to bargain behind enemy lines,
it is easy to give in to apathy,
it is temping to say we can change nothing,
But how long?
Before this powder keg goes off?
and who will be the next Leon Czolgosz

Life is a business that does not cover the costs
v
You call it a walk in the park
I am bare foot on glass
walking over burning coals
I am unaware that it’s a race and I’m last
ch
I’m no good at life,, no good at all
v
Running bald tires in the rain
Cold confusion meets insane
at the bottom it doesn’t really matter
and all that there is to do is laugh
br
I tried my best but all I got was F’s
at least I was consistent
There are red marks all over my life
Am I living through a comedy
or is this some tragedy?
When the anvil falls on my head
I know that I can laugh it off
so lets just laugh it of
I know that I can laugh it off
so lets just laugh it off hahahaha

Peyton could earn a billion dollars
making commercials for Papa john's
Eli could beat the Patriots in the Superbowl
with a Hail mary touch down pass
she Stood against the empire conscience unbending
Chelsea is my favorite Manning
Whistles blown and truth be told
those assholes in the apache deserve a hanging
35 years sentence in the penitentiary
WE have to set her free!

Chelsea is my favorite Manning

The audience applauds because the song is over.
Tonight my composition folder
says Hello to the paper shredder,
and gets torn to bits,
Just like it never did exist,
Free myself from my pen ,
Wont have to read again
how I thought when I was 16,
How I thought that I could be free.
Say goodnight to the rhetoric
that i've been screaming since I was a kid
but really have I changed that much
will I be singing the same old stuff. -----
How I hate this govt that
taxes U.S. to blow T.H.E.M. to bits,
How the 9 to 5 is a 5 by 10,
Pay your bills to forgive your sins,
The homeless sleeping out in the streets,
Right outside of empty buildings.
Smoke stacks a half a city high
polluted clouds rain a polluted cry!!...
.The objections get so easy to predict,
and I would like to think that this is decent/dissent
but it sounds like the gripe of the discontent----
Tonight my composition folder
says Hello to the paper shredder
because another is just 99 cents,
and I have grievances.
History is written by the victorious
my complaints are vacuous,
Nothing is going to change in any event
but really what do I expect.
can you really right the wrongs
wihout wronging the rights of everyone
or blowing the govt to bits?
ah shit now I am a domestic terrorist suspect. Because!

Project Artichoke
(2013-2014)
One man band solo project mid-life crisis. In the Mid 2000 teens I wrote some protest songs, sung them
badly, and played some shows around southern California, highlighted by having bottles thrown at me and meeting some of the nicest folx. I decided to hang up the acoustic guitar, as one should, at the end of 2014. In 2022 I played one last show. I now play in a band called disbeware.
